Components
Place parts in a Designer assembly as components, give each its own sizes, place whole assemblies as sub-assemblies, move a component, and open the document a component comes from to change it.
Connectors
Mark where a Designer part attaches with connectors - on a flat face, on a hole's or a cylinder's axis, or at a circular edge's centre - and give a hole of several positions one connector per hole.
Joints
Join Designer components by their connectors - fastened, turning, sliding or both - set the angle or offset and the limits, drive a joint by a parameter, mesh two gears, and pose the assembly with configurations.
Replicate
Place a Designer component on every connector of a set in one step, such as a screw in every hole of a flange, so the copies follow when holes are added, moved or taken away.
Patterns
Place copies of a Designer component around an axis or along a direction, such as a row of fan blades, with the count and spacing written as expressions and every copy counted in the bill of materials.
Inspect
Check a Designer assembly - the bill of materials that counts every part through every level, the clash check that finds parts that overlap or come too close, in one pose or through a motion, and the volume and mass of each part.
